Le Sunstrip Active est le successeur du très prisé Sunstrip I de Showtec. Equipé d'un gradateur embarqué. Pilotage possible via divers modes DMX (1, 2, 5 ou 10 canaux), ce qui permet une grande souplesse d'utilisation. Pour le fonctionnement en mode autonome, l'appareil est doté de 16 programmes incorporés et d'un gradateur manuel.
